And just like that, the sun is back.
I'm making a point to get out on long walks this winter whenever the weather allows. And when I say "long," I am talking about distances of around 10 k, which takes me two hours. Anything less than that is a nice way to get some fresh air, but doesn't really count as a "workout" for me.
One popular walk is the trail around Beaver and Elk Lakes. Another is a round-trip from Ogden Point along the waterfront to West Bay Marina. I have been exploring many routes around town, trying to find lanes, alleys, and secret beaches that are new to me. When you try to see your home town in the eyes of a newcomer, you'd be amazed at what you can find.
How about you? Do you have any favourite long routes (1.5-2 hours) around Greater Victoria?
I'm planning to compile several of them into a blog post, so if you have a route for me to try out, please let me know in the comments below.
